Making Space for the New Year: a mini-course

“I want to think again of dangerous and noble things. I want to be light and frolicsome. I want to be improbable and beautiful and afraid of nothing as though I had wings.” ~ Mary Oliver

Registration for this course is now closed.

You are invited
Maybe you were that kid who filled notebooks with observations, plans for the future, and detailed lists of things to do. (Maybe the act of checking items off those lists gave you life!)

Perhaps, as you grew older, you found that you were still filling notebooks but there was less striving and more emphasis on living a meaningful life. Perhaps you became less interested in how other people said that things should be done and more committed to finding a path of your own.

If that sounds like you, this might be your course.

Every year, during the last week of December, there’s a flurry of humanity reflecting on their year. I don’t know about you but my mind is not normally at its very finest during the week between Christmas and New Year. It’s my intention to be all peace + joy at that time… with a side order of pumpkin pie.

For the last four years, I’ve chosen to make some space in early December to gently reflect on 2021 and to start dreaming about and preparing for 2022. I want to slow down a bit and be as intentional as possible as I glide into the new year.

You, lovely one, are invited to join me.

Mood
The #mood of this course is short, helpful and not at all fussy. I want this mini-course to be deeply useful while also feeling easy and accessible. That’s what I need right now too.

Save the dates: The first two weeks of December
The course will begin on Monday 29th November and will wrap up on Sunday 12th December 2021.

Focus
Week 1: We’ll focus on reflecting upon and saying good-bye to 2021.
Week 2: We’ll look ahead to 2022 and give ourselves permission to dream, anticipate and plan.

How the course will unfold
Each weekday over those two weeks, you’ll receive an email with a short lesson. Each of the ten daily lessons will include a prompt that will take 15-20 minutes to complete although, as with all things, you can take less or more time if you wish.

We’ll also hold share our prompts and encourage each other inside our Slack group. (Note: I am no longer using Facebook for my courses!) As always, the degree to which you’d like to engage with others inside the group depends entirely on you.

Weekly Zoom Calls:
We’ll have a weekly Zoom call on Sunday at the end of each week.
Dates: Sunday 5th December and Sunday 12th December 2021.
Time: 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time | 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time
Duration: Our calls will be one hour in length.

Investment:
$125 Canadian Dollars paid via PayPal. This price includes tax.

*Special note for Canadians, if you’d like to deposit your tuition directly into my Canadian bank account in CAD dollars, please email me at monnamcd {at} gmail {dot} com and we’ll set this up.

A note about refunds:
If you’ve participated in Making Space for the New Year for the first week and you’ve responded to all the prompts BUT you don’t get value or you feel that your learning style doesn’t match how I teach, I’ll happily refund the money you’ve paid me. Please note that I’ll ask for your completed course work to make sure you gave it a go and ask what didn’t work for you so I can learn and improve.
