The Sunday List 17

Some things I have been enjoying lately:

  • Drinking apple tea in Istanbul
  • This song and video. (And, yes, it is exactly who you think!)
  • Wearing scarves
  • This book about Istanbul which was a perfect literary companion while visiting this extraordinary city
  • Thinking about new beginnings… which led me to this book based on this blog
  • Hanging out with DP
  • Starting this new gratitude project on Flickr. (You’ll also see a link at the top of my blog home page)
  • This blog which features photographs of Japanese women levitating
  • Having time to communicate with friends. During the holiday, my Facebook community gave me great ideas for a presentation I’m working on… and feedback about what I should write over the holiday. (This is a fiercely cool use of social networking)
  • This concert movie. (If you’re a fan, you’ll understand)
  • Dried apricots
  • Silence
  • And a last minute addition… this lovely song by Rumer…

What has been tickling your fancy lately?

  1. Dear April,

I have been thinking about you and Beregerie a great deal over the last week; When Meelo died suddenly in Canada, I was heartbroken and we were only together for a couple of years.

An artist named Camilla Engman had an adorable dog named Morran who died recently.
Here is the post where she shared the news that he had died & there are comments from 468 people who had fallen in love with that dog: http://camillaengman.blogspot.com/2011/11/morran.html

As a tribute to Morran, Camilla is publishing a book with paintings from Morran by people from all over the world: http://camillaengman.blogspot.com/2011/12/morran-book-project.html

Thanks for the new music, guapa. I had not heard of the song or the band… mostly because they are about 100 years younger than I am 🙂 I like their sound. Also… it’s a good song for grieving, isn’t it?

Sending you my love and a big hug.

    Monna
