Ten Barcelona Things I Wish I Had Known Earlier

We have now lived in Barcelona for two years. Here’s a list of Barcelona things I just love and wish I had known about earlier!

1) Concerts at the Palau de la Musica
You can buy tickets online here.
Upcoming concerts include: Adriana Calcanhotto (Brazilian singer); Herbie Hancock; Katie Melua; Mariza (Fado singer from Portugal).
Note: Even if you don’t go to a concert here, you can take a 50 minute guided tour. The venue is amazing.

2) Barca Games at Camp Nou
You can buy nosebleed tickets for 30-ish Euros. Do it! Purchase tickets online here.

3) Buying produce at our local market
Ours is Llibertat near the Gracia train station but there are fresh produce markets all over the city.

4) Bakeries
Try the chocolate macarons at the French bakery Paul. It’s a chain (but a goodie!) and there is one right at the top of the stairs at the Gracia train station.

5) “La Yaya Costurera” Arreglos de Ropa (Clothing Repair and Alteration)
Reasonably priced alterations. They are really good… they get your clothes just right! You can check out their website here. There’s a store locator on the website and chances are, there’s a store near you!

6) La Guia del Ocio
This is a guide to what’s on in Barcelona. (I use it for movies!)

7) V.O. (Version Original) Movie Theaters
Going to the movies in Barcelona is a spiritual experience… nobody talks! It’s amazing!

10) The Orange Michelin Map for Barcelona
BCN can be a confusing city to navigate. We picked this little book up at the Barcelona airport for 6 Euros. It includes every street in the city!

Tell me something new about my city… or yours. I’d love to know!
