June Hometown Photo Album

The highways of the blogosphere are jammed up with travel-related traffic and so, this month, DP and I have decided to stay home, both literally and figuratively.

In the spirit of celebrating the places where we live, I asked readers to send me shots of their hometowns. That was the first of June. Today, it’s time to open up the Hometown Photo Album. Thanks to everyone who sent photos of their own exquisite corner of the world.

Now, if you are thinking, “Darn. What a cool idea. I wish I had sent her a photo!” there is nothing but good news here. Send me your photograph at teachermeetsworld@gmail.com and I will add it here. There are plenty of blank pages in this particular photo album.

1. Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada

2. Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Photographer: Christine Howe
Location: National Art Gallery, Ottawa

3. San Antonio, Texas, USA

4. Bristol, England
Photographer: Heather Cowper at Heather on Her Travels
Location: It’s a view across the Bristol docks towards the Arnolfini, once an old grain warehouse but now a contemporary art gallery. It was taken from outside one of my favourite cafes, Bordeaux Quay.

5. Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Photographer: Barb MacDonald
Location: Rideau Canal, Ottawa

6. Barcelona, Spain

Photographer: Monna McDiarmid at Teacher Meets World
Location: Park Guell, Barcelona. I imagine Antoni Gaudi smiling down at me as I stretch out on one of his benches… they were meant to be sat on… and enjoyed.

Coincidentally, this is my 100th post!

What do you love most about your hometown?
