Postcards I Wish I Had Sent, Barcelona (2)

On four consecutive Sundays in September, Gracia’s Rius i Taulet plaza is home to L’Hora del Jazz (Jazz Hour) which is an ironic title as the jazz actually lasts for two hours, from noon to two o’clock. Chairs are provided and some jazz fans, toting coffee and newspapers, arrive early in order to score a seat. In the glaring heat of the day, this woman enjoyed her jazz hour from the shady side of the square.

European women suffer from a ridiculous abundance of elegance; the foreigner is (almost) forced to question the cosmic fairness of it all. This sense of style is like, most everything, learned but I have not yet found the spot where you can sign up for the classes. I’ll keep you posted.
