Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Eastern Ontario, my home-home, is being hit with an enormous storm this weekend. My mom e-mailed yesterday and here is what she had to say:

“It is to be the worst storm of the season, just like when I was a kid.

I remember a storm, at Easter time, when I was in grade one, that closed the roads for more than a week (of course there were not the big snow plows at that time), and my grandparents were stranded at our place for the week, then dad put their car on the manure sleigh, and the horses pulled it out to Kemptville so they could get back into Ottawa. They could touch the telephone wire from the sleigh, so that shows you how much snow had fallen. That would be March of 1947.”
